Vanda Murray OBE
Non-Executive Directorships at MAG, Redrow plc, Bunzl plc & Marshalls plc
Vanda has over 25 years’ International experience as a listed Company Director and Non-Executive Director across a range of industries in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA.
She has a BA (Hons) in European Business Administration and a French Business Diploma from the Grande École in Reims (renamed Neoma Business School).
Vanda started her career as a graduate trainee with ICI plc. and her early focus was in European marketing roles with GTE Inc. and BET plc.
From 2001-2004 she was CEO of Blick plc. a FTSE quoted International Support Services Group, where she doubled the market capitalisation prior to its sale to The Stanley Works Inc.
From 2004-2006, she led a highly successful turnaround at Ultraframe plc.
In 2002, Vanda was appointed an OBE for Services to Industry and to Export.
Vanda now holds Non-Executive Directorships with Manchester Airports Group, Redrow plc, Bunzl plc, where she is Senior Independent Director and Marshalls plc, where she is Chairman.
In March 2018, she won a Sunday Times UK National Award for Non-Executive Director of the year in the large company category for her work at Manchester Airports Group (which owns Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports), where she chairs the Remuneration and Corporate Social Responsibility Committees.
Vanda is also Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors at Manchester Metropolitan University.
When Vanda is not busy with one of her many Non-Exec roles, she is working on economic development boards for Manchester, the Manchester International Festival, and Maggie’s Manchester which is her chosen Charity for our Lunch event.
The charity will benefit from a donation of 25% of ticket sales from this event.
